The Maimed GodFor all thoughs out there who wonder why Tyr is known as the maimed God Here is somthing to look at. ... On the day when Fenrir the great wolf boasted he could break any collor or chain the gods used to restrain him, the gods consulted with the dwarves on how to craft such a thing. ... Using the roots of rocks, the beards of ladies(not dwarven Ladies), the footfalls of cats, and other hard to reach components.. The great Dwarven god and his people toiled endlessly for a week on shaping it. ... Then the gods took Fenrir far to the north and pounded in a stake made of magic oak. attached to that stake was an invisible chain, and to that a dragonskin collar. ... Now all they had to do was place the collar around Fenrirs neck. ...The Great Wolf would not allow this. ..."For one of you to place this wreath around mine neck," he growled. "Another must put his hand in my maw." ... Now all the gods and mortals alike new of Fenrirs lineage, and as a child of Loki he was filled with cunning and treachery. ...Nobody was brave enough to place their hand in the beasts mouth. ...None save Tyr. ...Tyr had a reputation as being utterly fearless of any challenge, and his fearlessness was backed by his mighty sword, and the greatest sword arm in the universe. Indeed his skill was paramount. ...Proudly he strolled right up to the wolf, winked at me and placed his right hand in the beasts maw. ...Taking hold of the collar, several dwarves scrambled onto the beasts back, and clasped the buckle tight. ..."You must leave your hand in," said the wolf, or "Any sudden movement while I tugg and Im likely to bite it off" ...So Tyr laughed and kept his hand in. ...The beast did pull, and tug with ferocious might, but the chain did not even shudder. ...So enraged the wolf became, he decided to avenge himself by biting off tyrs right hand. ...Tyr was devestated at the lost of his hand, and many warriors felt their gods pain. ...He was given his sword (Its name since then I have forgoten) and told he may take Fenrirs hide for vengence. ...But he did not. ...He left Fenrir pinned to the glacier way up in the north away from all the living beings. ...He gave mercy to the betrayer and earned his position as lord of Justice. ...Later he became skilled, using his left, as his sword arm. --This is an excerpt taken from the memoirs of a dragon-- --put to writing by I PaladinW --Through the words of Forgefire, the venerable Red Dragon
