An Island Affair

The day was near.......... The new day would bring even more responsibility. Travelling alone, only having to worry about yourself was one thing, but having to be responsible for the safety of an entire group was totallly different. These thoughts, and many more ran through the young squires head as he tried to rest and be ready for the morning. Sleep seemed to be the farthest thing away, Giantklr could only think of the day to come.

Waking with a jump, Giant couldn't remember what time he had actually fell asleep. That didn't matter at the moment, for he was late. "Oh my, I can't believe I slept through this day" Giant muttered as he quickly dressed and and ran for the docks. A call from behind stopped him in mid step, Giant turned and realized he had a few last minute details to work out. Soon, he was on the boat and headed towards the beautiful, but mysterious islands. Arriving, Giantklr made straight for the inn. Entering the door, Giant spotted those waiting for him, among them was Lady Nesha. Stopping instantly, he said a silent prayer to Tyr for mercy upon him. Giant then said his greetings. Odd he thought, no one seemed to say anything about him being late. Again a silent prayer went out to Tyr, thanking him for being so kind. Then like a bolt of lightning, it hit him......... "I'm not late, as a matter of fact I made it just in time" Giant said to himself. A broad smile crossing his face, Giant set about to making sure everything was in order while waiting for the last of the group to arrive. As soon as the last member was present, they set out. Destination: the secret Kraken Complex on the far side of the islands. After a short walk, and a rather bumpy ride on a small boat, the group of travellers had reached the enterence to the complex. From here on out, the journey was only going to get tougher. After a moments rest and some helpful advice, Giant led the group into the heart of the complex. An assortment of guards were encountered, and they would have been enough to stop the normal adventurer, but this group cut through them almost as if they were standing still. They were KORT, nothing could stop them in their mission. Or so Giant thought..... Stepping inot the next room, Giant realized that he should have known the hard part was still ahead.... beholders. They were everywhere!!!! Not wasting a moment on hesitation, the group charged in, swords drawn. These gaurds proved to be more of an opponent than any before, but the well trained group prevailed. Minor wounds were treated and soon the group was again on their way. from here on, they met heavy resistance.....Golems, dracs, hulks, wyverns.... the outcome was always the same. KORT victorious!!!!

Pulling out his map, Giant soon pinpointed their location, and they were near the main chamber. Preparing themselves for anything that may come, they group entered to door to the chamber. Immediately, they were attacked by more beholders. With well placed sword strikes, and some nice shootin from an obviously well trained archer, the holders soon fell before the force of good. Upon exploration of the room, a secret door was located in the northeast corner of the room. Cautiously entering the passage, the group was greeted by a small man. This man must of thought no one other tha Kraken could have possibly made it this far (little did he know) for he gave them each an ID badge and some words of advice. Leaving before the man realized his error, the group headed towards the only exit in the large room. Finding themselves in a maze of cooridors, the group slowed and continued on. Finally seeing daylight, Giant sighed in relief. They made it through the complex. Now it was time to leave. The group headed for the inn for some much needed rest. After Giant sat and watched a lovley dance and listend to some......ummmm......pleasant....thats it pleasant singing, he headed home. Many memories would stay with him from this day. For this, Giant felt unexplainable joy.
