Adventure on the IslandsThe adventure began, much like many of the others she had undertaken. She was nearing the time for her final mandatory quest on her journey to knighthood and she had asked Str to accompany her to the islands to help familiarize herself with the path leading through the area. They departed after a time, catching the small boat at the docks in Neverwinter, accompanied by a young man of KEF. It wasn't long before they were back on solid ground on the Isle of Trisk. They proceeded north, Str in the lead, and dispensed with a roaming band of monsters when they were a short way into the wooded area surrounding the small town of Trisk. They moved along the trail, ever northward, into a boathouse to await the arrival of the small boat that would transport them to the Isle of Utheraal. There they encountered a guard, who warned them of the danger that lay ahead, and who offered to accompany them to the entrance to the Kraken Complex. They had not traveled far, when they happened upon a band of mages and Otyughs, who, to Felena's dismay, took it upon themselves to deposit her at the gate to the complex. She wandered for a bit, but encountered a random band of Yeti's who decided it was her destiny to be carried back to the boat dock. It was there, tired and frustrated, that Felena entered the Inn to rest for a time, and acquire a set of maps. "Where are thee?" came Str's voice in her mind. "I am at the Inn near the boat docks," she said with a big sigh. He told her the route to take, back to the small boat to the north island, and she set out again, with him keeping her company by mind speech as she traveled. She was soon at the gate to the Kraken Complex once again, and he showed her the way back to the all familiar fight that had gated her previously. She had greater success this time, and when they had rested following the encounter, Str informed them that he had to depart. The young man who had accompanied them, and Felena watched as Str disappeared in the direction from which they had come. Neither of them were very familiar with the area, so they took a trail, believing it to lead them in the direction of their quest, but soon became lost in the winding maze of the complex. After a long walk, and having traveled in circles, they decided to make camp and rest until morning, when they would both be a bit more refreshed and clearer of mind. She shivered against the cold, the fire they had built having long since burned out. She opened her eyes, momentarily disoriented, having dreamt of her room in Camelot. As she sat up to survey her surroundings, she discovered that her companion was gone, and she was now alone in unfamiliar territory. |
