Silent Strings
I walk alone in the Neverwinter Garden
As a new sun rises in the crystal sky
The birth of day, so quite and peaceful
The flame has been lost and I'm not sure why
Its frightening how it can all fade away
So slowly and subtle that you hardly know
Looking at me, what could you say?
Except "I love you"...before the tears came
I've walked many roads to today
And missed some that I wish to have taken
But my heart is strong and hope survives
These have yet to be forsaken
The flowers here have such a gentle beauty
Strange, I've never really noticed before
But the roses wilted for you and me
No water, or care could bring the color back
The argentine scale has finally tipped
And collapsed under the weight of our sadness
Solitude prevails now without regard
For the pain we have or what we miss
In the garden of truth, it becomes clear
As I stand on the edge of this lost love
Revealed to me is the sorrow of blinded men
Who doubt...what they are sure of.
