ANNOUNCING A NEW KNIGHT APPLICANT POLICY

KORT is going to try a new method of accepting a candidate for knighthood.
The current method of majority vote with every knight getting a vote is
growing less effective as we grow larger. Here are the problems that have
been observed in the current system:

1. The work involved for everyone, the vote counters and the voters , is
becomming more intense.

2. An applicant can not be knighted till a sufficient number of knights
have voted, that number gets larger as we grow.

3. The days of everone getting to know an applicant before voting are
gone, most applicants could not survive the financial strain of every knight
gaming with them.

4. The applicants are less prepared for inductions. For example, not
having +3 weapon for induction or asking questions like "what charter, can i
have a copy"

Here is the new policy which is going into effect immediately. If there are
any fatal flaws in it we missed, please notify dagron, we well adjust it.

1. An applicant must have a sponsor. Any Knight can sponsor an applicant
merely by posting their sponsorship in the folder. The sponsor will be
responsible for preparing the applicant. This means:

A. Getting the applicants application with stats and forwarding the
application to dagron.

B. Posting a sponsorship message in the folder. Include the times
that the applicant is most likely to be on so any knight that wishes to meet
the applicant will be able to do so.

C. Giving the applicant a copy of the charter.

D. Giving the applicant a set of maps.

E. Giving the applicant a list of current knights and thier positions

F. Arranging for at least a loan from the guild for a +3 weapon for
induction.

G. Getting 4 other knights to endorse the applicant.

H. The sponsor must email dagron and post a message stating applicant
is ready for induction and who the endorsers are. The endorsements must be
posted by the endorsers but its the sponsors job to keep track of who is
endorsing their applicant.

2. Endorsements provide that at least 6 people in the guild like each
other. But a protest can be filed by any current knight against the
applicant. The protesting knight must notify a KORT officer, a tribunal of
officers or their appointed representative will descreetly view the case and
make a decision. For the reputation of all, please dont post the protest in
the folder

3. An applicant who applies by posting in the folder will be assigned a
sponsor by KORT officer if no knight volunteers.

4. In addition to being sponsored and endorsed, a potential knight must
must complete certain trails of knighthood to become a knight. These trails
will be supervisored, the details of the trails will be posted shortly
